Your To-Do List To Protect Against Cyber Attacks

Recently, an unsettling number of breaches were reported by law firms across the country, ranging from small mom-and-pop practices to some of the largest and most prestigious firms in the industry. Although the firms themselves were unsure of what was stolen or why they were hacked, it’s a fact that law firms have very specific security issues due to the nature of their work. Yet law firms don’t have a very good track record at protecting themselves and their data. Consider this ALM survey that showed: nearly one-third of law firms have yet to perform formal cybersecurity assessments; one-third of law firms haven’t purchased cybersecurity insurance policies; almost one-third of law firms have yet to establish cybersecurity practices; and almost half (47%) of law firms say their companies do not regularly test their cybersecurity programs.
